Serious duckage....
They've pretty much outgrown the pen we've been keeping them in. They're now go outside early in the morning and stay there until night begins to fall. They're completely unphased by rain....yesterdays storms didn't seem to bother them at all. They really seem to enjoy being out. Their feathers are a creamy color....they're not quite all white yet, but they're almost there. They still have a tiny bit of duckling fuzz on them, but for the most part that is all gone.
Remnants of fuzz.....
At about 8 weeks old they'll have all of their adult feathers. At this point they already seem like they do, but their wing feathers are still growing. They're getting more and more friendly. They will still run away from you when you go to pick them up, especially when they're outside since they're loving their new life outdoors, but once you get them they don't mind and don't put up a fight. They'll let you pet them too and they're SO soft!
We've establised that Frances is the only female and Duckers and Lucky are gentlemen. We're not 100% on this, but Frances is the only one that actually quacks, and apparently only the females quack while the males are less vocal. Also, Lucky and Duckers both appear to have tail feathers that are starting to curl up at the ends which is a sign they're males.
Frances has a few suitors!
We can't wait to get our own duck pool!
They are SOOOO big! Man, I want to see them in person!
